Illustrative worked example

Preparing a sensor pilot-build handoff

An illustrative handoff connects file revisions, unit evidence, and the decision to repeat a build.

Release a consistent package

Identify the board, enclosure, firmware, and BOM revisions. Name approved substitutions and who can authorize further changes.

Define the pilot evidence

Agree what assembly and functional evidence is required for each unit and who reviews it. Set sample quantities and limits with the engineering owner and supplier.

Record exceptions

If a unit stops logging, record its identifier, firmware, observed behavior, setup changes, and disposition. Assign an owner to the investigation.

Decide before repeating

Review accepted units, unresolved failures, and corrective actions. Approve, revise, or pause the next build with a named owner and written reason.
